How does the iON SYNC plug enhance the earthing effect of Atlas Sandals with conductive laces?

The iON SYNC plug significantly boosts the earthing effect by increasing the conductive surface area. While the stainless steel-lined laces and copper toe post plug provide grounding through the upper, the iON SYNC plug makes the entire sole conductive when moistened by sweat electrolytes. This nearly doubles the grounded surface area in contact with the skin.

 Can Earth Runners be worn in water?

Yes, all of our sandals can be worn in water. The Earth-Grip footbed—which can be found on our Circadian and Alpha models—resembles the feel of a mild bare earth experience, but with superior all-weather traction. The 100% cotton footbed will hold some water weight until it has a chance to dry. In comparison, our Primal model dries much quicker by featuring no Earth-Grip footbed, but the trade-off is less effective grip/performance in water.

How does the Vibram outsole compare to the Walkbase outsole?

The raw materials for these two outsoles are produced by different companies in different countries, but the compound and tread pattern offer a very similar experience underfoot that is indistinguishable to most people.

How do the lifestyle laces compare to the performance laces?

The lifestyle laces offer slightly more comfort while the performance (adventure) lace is more burly & secure. They also come in different color schemes which may be a deciding factor.

Why are the Circadian the most popular Earth Runners model?

It's Earth-Grip footbed provides a comfortable secure experience along with ideal light weight, proprioceptive feel and aggressive traction. These factors work in concert to make the Circadian at home in the backcountry or around town.

Is the Earth-Grip footbed Organic?

The footbed is dyed in small batches using GOTS certified organic dye in Los Angeles California. The fabric itself is not certified organic. The farmers in India who grow our cotton use traditional practices that have been in place for over 100 years--before non-organic fertilizers were introduced.
